Plans and Book List

For those wondering, I'm taking a wee break until I tackle the huge annoyance that is sure to be Breaking Dawn. I will probably start reviewing BD in August probably. In the meantime I'm going to spend my time reading much better books in order to try and purge Eclipse from my memory.
To tide you guys over, I present you a continuation of my Better books list on the sidebar:
BOOKS THAT ARE BETTER THEN ECLIPSE:
Insatiable by Meg Cabot-This book has a) actual vampires, b) realizes how cheesy the vampire trope really is and therefore has fun with it, c) a heroine who DOES NOT get on your nerves, and finally d) is actually GOOD. Cabot herself has admitted she's not much of a vampire fan (similar to Meyer admitting she didn't like them, but Cabot dislikes them for legitimate reasons other then "they're icky") but Cabot did a much better job of twisting the vampire mythos then Meyer could ever dream. Plus, she did it in a hilarious way.
House of Night series by P.C.Cast-I don't exactly sing this series's praises because it is kind of ridiculous at times. But even at it's most ridiculous: it's STILL better then Twilight. Not by much, but it's still better.
Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead-This series kicks Twilight's butt all over the place. Rose is a great female lead (a little frustrating at times, but she's still better then whiny Bella-Sue) and there's mystery, court intrigue and kick butt action that keeps you turning the pages. Also again: actual vampires.
Discworld series by Terry Pratchett: Hilarious fantasy satire with great characters. Just so you know, if Meyer said that Twilight was actually meant to be a satire on the vampire trope I would kiss her feet and call her a genuis. But it's pretty obvious that she thinks it really is a deep romantic love story so I can't do that.
Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich-Again, another series with a great heroine and a much more believeable love triangle then Eclipse gives us. While the premise probably isn't very believeable, it is very entertaining to read.
Life as We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer-A riveting look at what happens when the moon is knocked forward and throws Earth's planetary weather off kilter through the eyes of a teenage girl. Dramatic and way more believeable then the so-called epic battle between the Cullens and Victoria.
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater-a book that focuses on werewolves for a change. Sam is way better then Jacob in about...every way. There's no love triangle for once and I found the romance while a bit cliche, to be sweet in every way that Bella and Edward's relationship wasn't.
Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev-A unique premise with a great snarky heroine and hilarious characters, and a love triangle that isn't annoying.
Need by Carrie Jones-Faeries this time as well as shifters. It was definitely an interesting idea. It was also nice to see a teen heroine who actually cared about things other then what was going on in her social/love life. No seriously, she was an activist and actually wrote letters to Amnesty International! Such a nice change from Bella-It's all about me-Swan.
The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan-A zombie book! Someone has actually come up with an intelligent zombie book! I will love Carrie forever just for that, and the fact that it's GOOD too.

So there you go, some books that are better then Twilight. Next time a Twihard tries to tell you Twilight is the best series ever written, try putting some of these into their hands. I have personally made it my mission to reccomend other books to Twihards just so they'll see it's actually not the best thing in the world.
